What we look for
Size, trade and geography, in numbers. The situations we hear. What we do not buy.
In numbers
| Sector | Mechanical, electrical and plumbing services |
|---|---|
| Size | Roughly €300,000 to €5 million in annual earnings |
| Where | Continental Portugal |
| Situation | An owner deciding what comes next: succession, liquidity, a partner leaving, or heirs who do not want to run it |
If your business is close to this but not exactly, write anyway. These are guides, not gates.
Situations we hear
- Succession with no successor
- Liquidity without giving up work
- One partner leaving, the other staying
- Heirs who do not want to run it
- Concentrated risk in a single company
- An investment cycle the owner does not want to fund
Where we came in
We started with HVAC, electrical and plumbing, and that is what we are looking for today. The thesis is broader: essential technical services to the building, one trade at a time.
How it is decided, and in what timeframe
The two of us decide, and there is nobody else whose permission we have to ask, which is why we can answer quickly. To say yes or no we need very little: the accounts for the last three years, a clear idea of who the customers are and how much of the work repeats every year, and a conversation in which we understand what the owner wants to happen next. After that conversation we say, normally within one to two weeks, whether it makes sense to carry on. If the answer is no, we say why, and nobody is left waiting months for an answer that never comes. The six steps that follow, and how long each one takes, are in Our process.
What we are building
One lasting group, assembled from good companies in mechanical, electrical and plumbing across continental Portugal. Bought to keep, not to sell.
